Father please forgive me
Forgive me for my sins
Seems like everywhere I turn
Some motherfuckers testing me
And that’s why
Every now and then I drink a little
A little bitty teeny tiny Tequila
A little Mezcal to wash down
These blue feelings
Father please forgive me
Help me keep my cool
Seems like each and every day
Some motherfuckers testing me
And that’s why
Every now and then I drink a little
A little bitty teeny tiny Tequila
A little Mezcal to wash down
These blue feelings
Every now and then when I’m feeling blue
I drink a little bit to lighten up the mood
Every now and then when I’m with my crew
We drink a little bit to lighten up
Heaven please forgive me
Help me keep my cool
Everywhere I turn
Oooh everywhere I turn
Some motherfuckers testing me
Father please forgive me
You know I’m trying to be good
But each and every day
I wish a motherfucker would
And that’s why
Every now and then I drink a little
A little bitty teeny tiny Tequila
A little Mezcal to wash down
These blue feelings
Every now and then I drink a little
A little bitty teeny tiny Tequila
A little Mezcal to wash down
These blue feelings
Every now and then when I’m feeling blue
I drink a little bit to lighten up the mood
Every now and then when I’m with my crew
We drink a little bit to lighten up
Father please forgive me
You know I’m trying to be good
But each and every day
I wish a motherfucker would
Father please forgive me
You know I’m trying to be good
But each and every day
I wish a motherfucker would
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
